This has been a busy year for dissertation mentoring with six of my doctoral candidates writing their final chapters. I have attempted small group mentoring online during the proposal stage before, but this time I tried a very structured approach to online dissertation mentoring as a combination of small group mentoring and one-on-one mentoring, with deadlines, regular meetings and peer feedback. It worked amazingly well with my five doctoral candidates from Cohort 3 in the UF EdD in Educational Technology, thanks to their professional approach and hard work. There were some very proud moments at commencement on Aug 8, 2015, when Michael Kung, Mel Rizzuto, TJ Logan, Rachael Murphy and Charles Martin graduated, and I look forward to Olysha Magruder graduating in the fall!
